In this mini series of posts, I’m running down through my top 5 favourite American Express Membership Rewards transfer partners. Number 5 was the (slightly) controversial choice of Etihad Guest, but in at number 4 we have… Virgin Atlantic Flying Club:

4. Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

As you might expect, Flying Club offers some solid redemption values if you want to fly Virgin Atlantic:

It might not be glamorous, but combined with (fairly) reasonable ‘surcharges’, Economy redemptions can be very good value – particularly during off-peak dates, which is most of the year. Just 10,000 Miles can get you a one way ticket India, and 12,500 can get you all the way to Hong Kong.

Virgin Atlantic ‘Upper Class’

Speaking of Hong Kong, due to legal restrictions on surcharges there, one way Premium Economy and Upper Class redemptions back to the UK can be an absolute bargain.

A lesser known string to the Flying Club bow, is the excellent redemption values you can unlock by using Miles to book partner airlines. In particular, 120,000 Miles for a return to Japan in ANA First Class is tough to argue with!

What’s your favourite Virgin Atlantic Flying Club redemption?
