Club Carlson, the loyalty scheme for Radisson, Park Plaza etc, has just launched a volley of offers that could prove very lucrative to some.
It includes a number of bonuses from just one stay that I think everyone should take advantage of!
Note: Everyone whom I have spoken to seems to be eligible for all of the offers below (I’m eligible, too), but it is supposedly targeted, so it may be that certain Club Carlson members are excluded when they attempt to sign up.
In total, it’s offering five different promotions, as follows:
Offer 1: Earn 15,000 bonus points when you complete one stay by 31 January, 2018.
Offer 2: earn Elite Silver status when you complete one stay by 31 January, 2018.
Offer 3: Earn a 50% off e-certificate when you complete one stay by 31 January, 2018
This gives you 50% off a stay of one or two nights, valid till 30 June 2018. Any further nights will need to be at full rate.
Offer 4: earn double elite-qualifying credit up to 31 December, 2017
Offer 5: earn up to 120,000 bonus points for your stays until 31 January, 2018.
These bonus points vest as follows:
- Stay five nights to earn 10,000 bonus points.
- Stay another five nights to earn an additional 15,000 bonus points.
- Stay another five nights to earn an additional 25,000 bonus points.
- Stay another 15 nights to earn an additional 70,000 bonus points.
How good are these offers?
Pretty damn good. One stay before 31 January 2018 will get you 15,000 bonus points, Silver Elite status and a 50% off certificate for your next stay.
I value Club Carlson points at around 0.4 pence each, so the 15,000 points alone is a circa £60 rebate on your room cost.
The 120k points is clearly for the heavier Club Carlson hotel user and certainly won’t work for me, but it could work very well for some.
With reward stays available from just 9,000 Club Carlson points, there’s the potential to get some real value out of this offer:
You can also redeem your points for airline miles, at the following rates:
(Redeeming for hotel stays is almost certainly better value, but this is a useful additional angle where you need to top up an airline mileage balance to make a redemption, for example.)
With a 15% points-earning bonus and complimentary room upgrade, Silver status is also something worth having. You can read the full benefits here, while the key benefits on top of standard status are set out here:
I will certainly be making a Club Carlson stay before 31 January to benefit from the first three offers. As a man who’s sold his soul to Hilton, sadly the fourth will be very difficult for me to achieve.
